   Connect it

   Connect it with the button on that page. BowlWise has no sign-in, so it is added at once. Claude labels it Community and reminds you that it has not reviewed it in depth.

   Turn it on and ask

   In a chat, click the + button, choose Connectors and turn BowlWise on. Start your first question with “Use BowlWise”. After that, just ask. Claude asks for your permission before it uses BowlWise.

Or add it by its address

In Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors. Click Add custom connector, name it BowlWise and paste the address. If Claude asks about sign-in, choose No sign-in, then click Add. Then turn it on in a chat, as above.

Start with your dog, then keep going. Claude carries the dog through the conversation.

What Claude can do with BowlWise

• Find the best matches for a dog. It needs the dog’s size and age. Activity, goal, allergies, weight, and a budget, brand or format are optional.
• Explain a score: the points on each of the six factors, and what held the food back.
• Compare two foods and give a verdict.
• Work out how much to feed and what it costs per day and per month, for a weight you give.
• Give a food’s label facts: guaranteed analysis, calories, AAFCO statement, bag size and price.
• Check a food for an ingredient, such as fish or grain.
• Find a food by name.

Good to know

• No account, and nothing saved. Your dog’s details are used for the answer and are not stored, so Claude describes the dog again with each question. We count how many dogs are matched, nothing more.
• It only reads. Nothing in BowlWise can be changed through Claude.
• The same dog gets the same scores as on bowlwise.app.
• Every answer gives each food’s match score, and its price with the date we checked it.
• It does not take health conditions, and the results are not adjusted for any medical condition. For a dog with a health condition, use bowlwise.app and ask your vet.
• The scores are BowlWise’s own, worked out from each food’s label data and the published AAFCO, NRC and WSAVA standards. They are not veterinary advice.
• Dogs only, and foods sold in Canada. Prices are in Canadian dollars.
• Shop links pass through bowlwise.app, which counts the click and sends you on to the retailer.
• Added by its address, BowlWise is a custom connector, and Claude’s Free plan keeps one of those. If you already have one, remove it first.
• It works in Claude on the web and in the desktop app.
• Claude is made by Anthropic. BowlWise is independent and is not affiliated with Anthropic.

If something does not work

• Claude answers without BowlWise: check BowlWise is on (+, then Connectors) and start your question with “Use BowlWise”. If you use many connectors, open +, Connectors, Tool access and choose Always available for that chat.
• Claude cannot reach BowlWise: check the address is exactly https://mcp.bowlwise.app/mcp and try again in a minute.
• A food is not found: BowlWise covers foods sold in Canada from 15 brands; ask Claude to search by brand and name.
• A score differs from the site: give Claude the same size, age, activity, goal and allergies as on your dog’s profile.
